Issue #9 - Web3 Exits the Metaverse & Enters Denver ⛄️

ETHDenver, Warren Buffett's Bitcoin Move, & Andrew Yang Brings Web3 to Politics

GM Shifters,

We've got a pretty cool announcement coming up. It's our first 'product' release (of many!) Make sure you follow us on twitter to stay in the loop:

In Today's Issue

→ ETHDenver Attracts Crypto's Top Talent

→ Warren Buffett Invests in a (Bitcoin-Friendly) Neo Bank

→ Andrew Yang Is Forming a Web3 Lobbying Group

This week, Web3's top developer and visionary talent exited the metaverse and gathered IRL in Denver for the 5th annual ETHDenver conference. Teams from all over the world are showcasing the most promising protocols, currencies, and innovations built on top of and in harmony with Ethereum while competing for over $1.5 million prizes and $2 million in investment capital.

Speakers include none other than Ethereum's founder and spirit animal Vitalik Buterin (who is dressed up as a mythical bufficorn here), as well as Elon Musk's younger (and better dressed) brother Kimbal Musk. You can catch up on every speaker and panel on ETHDenver's main website:

Warren Buffett, who infamously called Bitcoin "rat poison" and having "no unique value", is now investing $1 Billion in Nubank, a digital Brazilian bank with substantial Bitcoin exposure. Nubank's investment unit, NuInvest, permits users to put money into a Bitcoin ETF. Only time will tell if this means that the investment GOAT is on board with Web3, but it signals a positive trend in Web3 adoption among traditional actors.

Andrew Yang, aka the world's funniest politician (the competition isn't fierce), is launching a DAO to get lawmakers on board with Web3 called Lobby3. DAOs are an emerging technology that allow people to contribute towards a collective goal while maintaining decision-making power and financial incentives.

Lobby3 token holders can vote on high-level decisions for the lobbying group and participate in roundtable discussions with policy leaders. Andrew Yang thinks that "the most profound opportunity to fight poverty lies in Web3 technologies." We agree.

By the way, understanding Web3 technologies is hard, but using them is even harder. We wanted to feature a cool new product from our friend Karthik Senthil: GM Need Help?, a learn to earn Q&A platform to get your web3 questions answered by trusted experts for free -- AND earn rewards.
